Limit Google Search Results to 1 year

Whenever I used Google to find something, it annoyed me that it returned results from sites that hadn’t been updated in about 10 years. I only wanted to see results from sites updated within the last 12 months. That’s actually easy to do in Chrome.

Here’s how:

1. Go to SETTINGS and then to MANAGE SEARCH ENGINES.
2. Click on ADD A SEARCH ENGINE.
3. Give it a name. I used ‘Google1year’.
4. Enter the information as per the screenshot below.
• Keyword: search.google.com
• URL: https://www.google.com/search?tbs=qdr:y&q=%s
5. Once done, simply set this as your default search engine.
6. Also, set it as the default for the Address bar.

You can modify the URL to return the search results as per your personal preference: https://www.google.com/search?tbs=qdr:y&q=%s

Note that you can replace ‘y’ (for year) with ‘m’, ‘w’, or ‘d’ for month, week, or day, respectively.
